​At Head Spring Farm, we’ve taken our passion for wool and fiber full circle—right back to our fields—by building a custom small-batch fiber mill right here on the farm. With a flock of over 60 beloved fiber sheep (yes, each with their own name!), we bring hands-on experience with a wide range of breeds and fiber types. From fine wools to long wools, camelids and angoras, our variety gives us rare insight into the many personalities of fiber and we process it all with care and precision.

Our small-scale mill is designed for flexibility and attention to detail, allowing us to tailor each batch to the unique characteristics of your fiber. Whether it’s carding or spinning, we take pride in finding creative, fiber-specific solutions to bring out the best in every fleece.

Bridget Brown of Bridget’s Farm Cart is the creative force behind our fiber artistry. A skilled spinner, felter, and weaver, Bridget brings her fine art background into every project. She also serves as Chairperson of the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival Fleece Sale and is an active member of the Loudoun Valley Sheep Producers Association. Each November, our farm becomes a hub of creativity during the Over the Mountain Studio Tour.

Tim Daly, with a lifelong background in the horse industry, brings mechanical savvy and innovative problem-solving to the mill. From maintaining smooth operations to managing wholesale sales, Tim ensures that both the fiber and the business flow seamlessly.

Together, we’re proud to offer artisan-quality fiber processing with a personal touch—crafted with experience, creativity, and care from barn to batt.

Roving

Prepared roving, blends of colors, swirls or solid, drawn, or pencil roving. Loose in bags or in bumps. We also sell wholesale roving from our own fiber flock. Inquire about discounted rates.

Batts are perfect for felting or for stuffing items like comforters, or for just making dryer balls.

Clouds are just carded fiber that is not in any shape, and is nice for hand spinning.
